Whether you're looking for Haute Couture or a re-imagined creation, we focus on sustainable sourcing, upcycling your existing hat or fascinator base, and choosing vintage, preowned, or repurposed materials whenever possible.

Our sustainability mission includes, but is not limited to:

Sourcing materials from UK-based vendors to minimize carbon footprint, or from marketplaces like as Etsy that uphold high sustainability standards.
Supporting small businesses while fostering positive change for both people and the planet.
Utilizing up to 90% natural, biodegradable materials such as silk, cotton, and wool to reduce environmental impact.

Looking to the future means embracing sustainability and reducing waste. Within MiziAtelier, efforts are continually made to prioritize low-carbon techniques and eco-conscious materials. Natural, biodegradable, and responsibly sourced materials are carefully selected, including wool felt, sinamay (woven plant fibers), and straw.

To ensure the longevity and structure of each hat, a water-based, non-toxic stiffener is used, avoiding the traditional harsh chemicals commonly found in millinery. Materials are sourced from small, independent UK suppliers—many of whom have been in business for generations, while others represent a new wave of sustainable craftsmanship.

Sustainability extends to packaging as well. Each hat is carefully wrapped in recycled tissue paper and placed inside a 100% recycled box, which is fully recyclable. This ensures that from creation to delivery, each piece has as little environmental impact as possible.

Through these choices, millinery can remain both an art form and a responsible craft, creating timeless pieces with minimal harm to the planet.
